Overall I am really pleased with this project, it has been so enjoyable and I have had great fun reading and learning all about Charles Dickens and his novel, Great Expectations. After researching the novel and film adaptations I decided to stick very close to the true storyline and create historically correct characters. This can be quite difficult trying to create characters that have already been done before so accurately. However I have had fun and am really pleased with my designs and the stories behind them. Although I can pick out many things wrong with my continuity assessment, I am really pleased with how it went - especially for my first attempt. Reflecting on my project, I am going to improve on my face charts and hair designs, by adding more tone and detail to them in future. I am also going to work a bit more on my time management, making sure I have everything done on time rather than having to go back and add more work to it. On a positive note I have had so much fun in my practical makeup lessons and also my theory ones, creating different looks and learning about the history behind the characters and makeup.
The second part of the project has been short and a bit of a challenge but again I have loved every minute of it. I don't really watch horror films/series so I was a bit nervous about learning about Gothic Horror and choosing a tv series to recreate but it has actually been enjoyable (and not as scary as I thought!) I am really pleased with my final design for Quentin and Claudia and I feel I have got a unique storyline to back up my characters. As previously mentioned, I have had many challenges and problems along the way but I overcame them and am happy with the outcome.
This year has gone very quickly and I can't believe it's over already. I have had great fun and am looking forward to what next year brings.
