I printed out some photographs of the stages and my final design so I had clear pictures to copy from. It also helped me to remember exactly what each stage should look like.
Comparison
1st assessment 2nd assessment
These are my two photographs compared. I am happy with how it turns out and I think they look pretty similar considering this is my first time ever doing continuity makeup. I am pleased with the makeup, although the lighting is different is is near enough spot on. However, there are lots of negatives points I can point out.
The hair is slightly different, my partner washed her hair the night before on my second assessment which made the hair softer and harder to get into position. This is more obvious at the top of the head as the hair was slightly greasy on my first assessment. The curl on the left is slightly higher as well. The camera lighting was on a slightly different setting which makes the face look a lot darker, meaning the shadows are highlights appear stronger. One of the other reasons is because the flowers were real, they died more within the two weeks gap we had between the assessments, causing more pieces to fall off and for it to change. It was hard to change the bouquet because the flowers were so fragile I didn't want them to break off. Despite all of these bad points, I feel I have worked my hardest to get them looking the same and I am pleased with my first attempt of continuity.
