So today was my final practice before my assessment (aahh!) I started off with the makeup, I applied the foundation which matched the skin perfectly (to make it look like Estella wasn't wearing makeup). I then added the bruise to the eye and the hand marks to the neck.
After discussing my hair design with Helen I decided to change my design due to the fact it was more contemporary rather than historically correct and wasn't very Victorian. I then quickly came up with the idea below which I really like.
I simply put the hair into a ponytail, leaving the front two sections either side down. I then took took the top section of the ponytail and plaited it. I pulled the ponytail to make it a bit looser then made a gap in the hair so that I could push over the plait through the hair and let it hang underneath. And then curled the remaining hair! It's simple but I think it works really well and I am very pleased with how it looks.
I want to create the idea that Estella is hiding her cuts and bruises, not just through concealing over the top but by physically hiding them behind her hair so that they aren't that noticeable to others.
Overall, I am pleased with how it turned out and am feeling quite confident for my final assessment. As long as I portray my idea across and it goes to plan, I will be happy.
