Developing Miss Havisham Ideas & Face Charts

Design 1

I have developed this design from my first old age makeup I have done and I feel it has improved a lot. I prefer the choice of colouring and the position of the wrinkles look more realistic.

Design 2

After looking at Memento Mori and my fear of death I have decided to include this fear into my design to give it the gothic horror feel. I was interested by the way they painted on their eyes to make it look like they were alive so I am going to attempt this in my design. Miss Havisham is almost dead inside, she refuses to move on and she is trapped in her decaying body so I thought this would be a good way to capture it.

The only problem I have with this design is the fact I will need to make it look so realistic otherwise it won't work. Another big problem was the time it took, this one eye took me about 20 minutes to do and I only have 2 hours to create my whole characters look!

Design 3

For this design, I really wanted to include both of my biggest fears - death and spiders. I have come up with the idea to do half of each. One half will be of her decaying and having drawn on eyes because she is almost dead. And the other half will have long spider lashes, showing my fear. The fact she lives in a home that is run down and poorly looked after makes me think of all the nasty things in it, spiders being some of them!

After developing the ideas, I have decided to create an older version of Miss Havisham by sticking to the traditional version of her making her historically correct. Below I have practiced ageing the skin with liquid latex and painting over the top with supracolor. I think it does look quite good, however you can see the edges and it only looks effective if you stretch the hand backwards. If the hand is relaxed or is holding something then it doesn't look aged at all.

Hair design

I am really happy with this design, it really fits well with my character and the makeup. I am going to use this as my final design because of this reason.
